Match #8 is Complete!
More than 30 people contributed towards Match #8. All of their names will be listed in the program for the Bach B Minor Mass to be performed at NMSU on April 27-28. Each person has helped to pay for our 23 student singers to have the opportunity of a lifetime. Each of these individuals has made a difference in choral music in Southern New Mexico. How can a two- week residency at St. Paul’s in Rome not affect a young musician’s career? Don’t you wish that someone would have provided a similar opportunity for you when you were in the formative years of your career?
We’ve had an incredible semester. Kirstin Chavez has made a lasting impression on our audiences as well as our students. Her solo recital is Thursday, January 19, 7:30 pm in the Atkinson Recital Hall on campus. I know you’ll want to attend.
Because of your continued support of NMSU Choirs, we’ve been able to build a choral program with national standards. Do you realize that it would not have been possible without your support?
Here’s a quote from Sigrid Johnson, Artist in Residence at St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, used with her permission.
VocalEssence is a paid professional choir of 32 singers conducted by Philip Brunelle and for which I serve as Associate Conductor. One of our singers from VocalEssence has a home in Las Cruces and was at your concert in October. He was so impressed with you and your choir!!
I hope you and yours will have a wonderful holiday season.
Thank you,
Dr. Jerry Ann Alt
